Requesting a session
The firm delivers training for universities, NGOs and public bodies on court procedure, contract practice, employment obligations and data protection. Sessions run in Somali or English.
Research
Work in progress.
The firm contributes to law reform drafting and writes on areas where practice and the written law have drifted apart. Current interests are company law reform, penal code revision and the implementation of the data protection regime.
Company law reform
Drafting and commentary on the modernisation of Somalia's company law framework, including registration, governance and creditor protection.
Penal code revision
Analysis of the case for revising the 1962 Penal Code and the procedural reforms that would have to accompany it.
Data protection in practice
How the 2023 data protection regime applies to humanitarian and financial organisations already holding large volumes of personal data.
